Nicholas, J.B. Is British art fighting? Art and Industry vol.32, no.191 (May 1942) pp.122-124, 139 illus.
J.B. Nicholas, Chairman of the Advertising Service Guild, constructively criticises the war-time work of British artists. He calls for more realism and a "more virile" interpretation of the artist's function in war propaganda. The article is illustrated with two examples of recent posters issued by the Ministry of Supply for use in war factories. They are reproductions of actual Soviet posters and incorporate a translation into English of the Russian caption. [2 illustrations]
