Gaunt, W. The whole world of advertising. Commercial Art vol.7, no.40 (Oct.1929) pp.137-141 illus.
W. Gaunt, joint editor of 'Commercial Art' magazine, reports on the 1929 Welt Reklame Kongress (International Advertising Congress) held in Berlin. "The Congress brought home to me more strongly than anything else that advertising has stepped out of the Parochial stage and become an international force", he writes. The article is illustrated with illustrations from 'Berlin', a souvenir booklet, designed by Otto Arpke. [5 illustrations]

Gaunt, W. The spirit and the letter of modern advertising design. Commercial Art vol.7, no.40 (Oct.1929) pp.142-146 illus.
Report on an address given by W. Gaunt, the joint editor of 'Commercial Art' at the Welt Reklame Kongress (International Advertising Congress) held in Berlin, on 13 August 1929. In his paper Gaunt critically defines and assesses the "modern spirit" of advertising design. The article is illustrated with photographs of the exhibition stands designed by Zero-Schleger for Dr Kurt Kauffmann and by Heinrich Jost for the Bauer Type Foundry, and with illustrations from 'Berlin', a souvenir booklet, designed by Otto Arpke.
