A brief report on Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI). Formed in Basle, Switzerland in January 1950 by a small group of Swiss and French artists for the express purpose of bringing together the outstanding commercial designers of international importance, of improving working conditions and of defending the interests of the profession in general. The AGI held its first Congress in London between 6-8 June 1952.

A report on 'Art et Publicite dans le Monde', the first international exhibition by the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), held at the Pavillon de Marsan in the Louvre in Paris 24 March-8 May 1955. The AGI is an association of graphic artists with approximately 75 designers from eleven countries. A selection of posters from the exhibition accompanies the text. These are by F.H.K. Henrion, Pierre Gauchat, Herman Eidenbenz, Eugenio Carmi, Dick Elffers, Loupot, Giovanni Pintori, Joseph Binder, Josef Muller-Brockmann, Herbert Leupin, Franco Grignani, Ashley Havinden, Lars Bramberg, Hans Schleger and Jacques Nathan. Elvin, René Retrospect & prospect Art and Industry vol.63, no.376 (Oct.1957) pp.114-119, 144 illus.
A review of ‘Graphic 57', a series of exhibitions held at the Palace of Beaulieu at Lausanne in Summer 1957. It consisted of a display of almost 500 historical posters, a show of work by members of the Alliance Graphique Internationale, an exhibition of Swiss advertising, an exhibition provided by the paper industry and a display of machines from the graphic industries. The Ninth International Congress of Master Printers was also held in conjunction with 'Graphic 57'. The article is illustrated with examples of the historical posters and posters from the AGI section that were exhibited. [23 illustrations]
