Adams, Laurence Kingston [1886-1915. UK. Architect]

Laurence Kingston Adams * was born in New Brighton Cheshire England on 10 August 1886 and studied architecture at Liverpool University in Liverpool, England from 1904 to 1907. He then worked as an assistant to Charles Herbert Reilly (1874-1948) in 1907; to Alfred Culshaw (1850-1926) in 1907-08; to Frank Thomas Verity (1864-1937) in 1908-09; and to William Owen (?-1910) and Segar Owen (1874-?) from 1909.

Adams qualified as an architect in 1913 and was elected an Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (ARIBA) in 1914. His career as an architect was very short as he was killed in action near Festubert, France on 15 or 16 May 1915 whilst serving in the Army during World War One.

* His first name is sometimes given as Lawrence, however, the England & Wales, Civil Registration Birth Index, 1837-1915 and the 1901 and 1911 England Census confirms that it was Laurence
