Adshead & Smellie was founded in Dudley, England in c.1893 by (?) Adshead and James Smellie. They were manufacturers of fireplace fenders, hearth suites, grates and art metalwork. By the early 1900s the partnership had been dissolved and subsequently traded as James Smellie and later as James Smellie Ltd. The company is currently [2016] based in Halesowen, West Midlands, England
