Abdülaziz (Abdul-Aziz) [1830-1876. Turkey/Ottoman Empire. Artist]
Abdülaziz [also known as Abdul-Aziz] was the 32nd Sultan of the Ottoman Empire was born in Constantinople, Ottoman Empire [now Istanbul, Turkey] on 9 [or 18] February 1830, and reigned 1861-76. In addition to his duties as a monarch, he was also a composer and artist. His work as an artist is discussed in ‘Studio-Talk’ in ‘The Studio’ November 1912 (pp.162-163). He died in Constantinople [Istanbul] on 4 June 1876.
