Adams, Cecilia [1876-1954. UK. Painter/Decorative Artist/Jewellery Designer]

 

Cecilia Adams was born Cecilia Chester Mary Adams in Pimlico, London, England in 1876. She was active as a painter, decorative artist and jewellery designer in England between the 1890s and c.1916. A gesso decorated mirror frame designed by Adams is illustrated in ‘The House’ vol.1, no.6, August 1897 (p.248). The frame was shown in the Women’s Section of the ‘Victorian Era Exhibition’ held at Earl’s Court, London in 1897. Between 1913-16 she also exhibited at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and the Royal Academy in London. At this time her address was given as 1 Marlborough Crescent, Bedford Park, London. She died in Chiswick, London in 1954
