Alcock, Barbara [-. UK. Jewellery Designer]

 

Barbara Alcock was active as a jewellery designer in the UK in 1980s and 1990s. She was one of nine designers whose work featured in the exhibition ‘New Departures in British Jewellery’ an exhibition of jewellery by the new wave of makers at the American Craft Museum [now Museum of Arts and Design] in New York City in 1993. Two armpieces (1982) by her that were shown in the exhibition are illustrated in ‘American Craft’ vol.43, no.4, August 1983 (p.29). A neckpiece by her is illustrated in ‘The New Jewelry: Trends + Traditions’ by Peter Dormer and Ralph Turner (London: Thames & Hudson, 1985, plate no.103).
