A. Younger Ltd. was a furniture manufacturer active in London, England, during the 1950s and 1960s. A photograph of an occasional table in afrormosia with brass-tipped legs, designed and made by A. Younger Ltd. is illustrated in ‘Decorative Art’ 1957-58 (p.45); and a photographs of a sideboard in solid afrormosia with teak veneer and a six-drawer dressing table in East India satinwood and mahogany from the ‘Berkeley’ bedroom suite, designed by John Joseph Herbert and made by A. Younger Ltd. are illustrated in ‘Decorative Art’ 1958-59 (pp.40, 48). Younger was one of the first British companies to make furniture in teak. One of their most popular lines was the ‘Moselle’ dining suite in teak launched in 1955. This was followed by the ‘Volany’ range of teak furniture in 1957. John Herbert, the company’s design director for a number of years, won three awards from the Furniture Makers’ Guild for furniture he designed for Younger
