Agranat, Gertrude [1921-1989. Germany/South Africa. Weaver]
Gertrude Agranat was born Gertrude Feit in Vienna, Austria, on 26 May 1921. She subsequently to South Africa lived in Johannesburg where she married Barnes Agragat In 1958 she moved to the USA. In 1963 she returned to Johannesburg where she remained for the rest of her life. A solo exhibition of her work was held at at America House in New York City in June 1959. He work was also shown at Gainsborough Galleries in Johannesburg in March 1946, and Duncan Hall in Johannesburg in August-September 1949. In addition to her work as an artist, Agranat was also a collector of arts and crafts. She died in 1989
