Adkinson, Joe [-. USA. Furniture Designer]
Joe Adkinson worked as a furniture designer in the USA during the 1940s and 1950s. He designed a number of pieces for Thonet. A photograph of a bedroom with wood panelling and mahogany furniture, designed by Joe Adkinson and made by Home Furniture Co. is illustrated in ‘Decorative Art’ 1953-54 (p.63), and a photograph of a plywood chair designed by Adkinson for Thonet is illustrated in ‘Industrial Design’ vol.4, no.12, December 1957 (p.52); and a photograph of a desk and storage cabinet designed by Joe Adkinson for Thonet Industries is illustrated in ‘Design Quarterly’ no.35, 1956 (p.7)
