A.J. Van Dugteren & Sons Inc. were retailers of glassware and manufacturers and domestic lighting and costume jewellery. They were active in the USA between the 1930s and 1950s and had premises on Fifth Avenue, New York City. A photograph of a lamp with a turned wood base, manufactured by A.J. Van Dugteren & Sons Inc. is illustrated in ‘Decorative Art’ 1941 (p.66); and a photograph of ‘Viking’ flame-proof porcelain oven- and tableware, with stainless-steel flatware by Amboss, both available from A.J. Van Dugteren & Sons Inc. is illustrated in ‘Decorative Art’ 1958-59 (p.67). The company sometimes used Orrefors glass as bases for their lamps. The jewellery designer Johanna Van Ryan worked for A.J. Van Dugteren & Sons in the 1940s
