A.E. Gray & Co. Ltd. [also known as Gray’s Pottery] was founded by Albert Edward Gray (1871-1959) in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, in 1907 [or 1912 - sources differ]. In 1961 the pottery was acquired by Susan Cooper-Willis, and as of 1 January 1962 a new backstamp was introduced and the name Gray’s Pottery ceased to exist.
