Afflerbach, Ferdi [1922-2005. Switzerland. Graphic/Poster Designer]

 

Ferdi Afflerbach was born in Binningen, canton of Basle, Switzerland, on 9 May 1922 [or 9 May 1922 - sources differ] and studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Basle. In 1947 he married a fellow student at the Kunstgewerbeschule, Beatrice Hefti, and together they opened a design studio, Afflerch-Hefti. The studio specialised in the design of advertising graphics, exhibitions, illustrations, album covers, posters, etc. They designed several posters for the Swiss Ministry of Transport. Verband Schweizerischer Grafiker (VSG) Afflerbach lived in Binningen and died in Basle on 8 May 2005.
