Erik Adigard des Gautries [commonly known as Erik Adigard; also known as Eric Adigard] was born in 1953. With Patricia McShane, he co-founded the California-based communication design agency M-A-D.

Adigard was admitted to the Alliance Graphique Internationale in 2009
